The St. Dominic Roman Catholic School is a mission school which provides quality and holistic education to pupils from all nationality and religious background. The school was established in October, 1995 and was blessed and commissioned by Rev. Father Sylvester Kwasi Agyapong on the 19th of October, 1995. It was re-opened for the first term session with nineteen (19) boys and seventeen (17) girls, a total of thirty-six, for class one (1) on 17th October, 1995. The school was managed by the Dominican sisters; Sr. Wiltrude Vogel (Business Officer), Sr. Irmina Radke (Administrator), Sr. Theresita Ohmer (Financial Controller) and Sr.Lucaris (Local Superior) with few managerial members of the board; Dr. Kwasi Dei Anane (Medical Superintendent), Mr. E. N. O. Turkson (Accountant) and Mrs. Sarah Nyampong (Matron)

AIMS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SCHOOL

The establishment of the St. Dominic Hospital, Akwatia by the Dominican Sisters created a whole community within the Akwatia-Boadua vicinity with an array of workers working for the hospital.
The aim of the establishment of the school was to sustain the workforce of the hospital community, by giving quality education to the children of the dedicated staff who were resigning to the cities to look for good schools for their children.
VALUES: the school’s motto “Truth and Knowledge” reminds pupils to be truthful in all things and aspire to have intellectual understanding and also show their appreciation of truth or information in their lives.
